Building Community

In a time when most people are “connected” on a global level more than ever before, we often feel disconnected and isolated. Scripture tells us we were created for community – for relationship with God and each other. The Church which Jesus established is intentionally communal by its very nature – the community of faith. In fact, fulfilling and mission and vision is born in and lived out through community in which each and every member is valued and each as a role to play in Kingdom ministry. At St. Andrew’s, we are committed to growing and strengthening an authentic, multi-generational community centered on transformation and serving others. As we learn to “do life together,” we are centered on love, a sense of belonging, and spiritual growth. Since the Church exists for those not yet part of us, growing and extending our family is a high priority, and we are intentional about creating a warm, welcoming, and inviting ethos - a place to truly belong, even before you believe.

Food and lots of it have always been a big part of our fellowship together. From fish fries to BBQ on the waterfront to potluck suppers or full catered dinners, we take every opportunity to break bread together. Good coffee is high on our list, so much so that we partnered with a local roaster to create our own St. Andrew’s seasonal blends with proceeds supporting outreach.
