Participation in the Legacy Bridge Building Campaign is based on your commitment to include Saint Andrew’s in your will, trust, or estate plan. Everyone who has remembered this parish in his or her will qualifies to be a Legacy Bridge Builder. As God’s stewards, we build on the foundation of St. Andrew’s left by those who came before us. Legacy giving allows St. Andrew’s the opportunity to sustain and enhance our parish ministries – building bridges to future generations.

The Book of Common Prayer reminds us that it is our duty as Christians to have a will, to provide for the well-being of our families, our Church, and other charitable organizations. Careful estate planning conveys your final wishes for the distribution of your assets, and provides loved ones helpful clarity at a time they will need it. Take the opportunity to plan your legacy.

If you have already included St. Andrew’s in your estate plans, thank you!  Please let us know of your plans so we can include you with those who are already Legacy Bridge Builders.

FAQs

Q: I am not wealthy, do I really need a will?

A: As Christians, it is our duty to have a will. Gifts (no matter the size) are important to build His Kingdom and at St. Andrew’s you may do that through a gift in your will that will support the church for years to come.

Q: Why do I need to tell you that I have included St. Andrew’s in my will?

A: Technically, you do not have to share with us your estate plan intentions. However, we hope that you will share with us your intent so we may celebrate with you and help you make informed decisions about your gift while you are living.

Q: I already have a will, but want to make a bequest to St. Andrew’s. What do I do?

A: We are grateful for all planned gift intentions! You do not need to re-do you entire will. You may be able to add a codicil (a supplement to a will), which provides additional explanation or modification to your current will.

Q: To remember St. Andrew’s in my will, do I leave it to the Church or to some other entity?

A: Most gifts are designated to the Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, however please contact the rector or the church office with preferred bequest wording for the Church or to designate a specific fund.

Q: Does St. Andrew’s have specific funding needs that will benefit from my estate gift?

A: Yes! St. Andrew’s Church is supported by annual and regular giving, as well as estate and memorial gifts. The Legacy Bridge Builder Campaign encourages support for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and its many programs. Additional funds which you may want to consider supporting are: The Vision and Growth Fund, Music and Choir Program, Outreach, and Children and Youth ministries.

Please contact the Rector to discuss the area of support most needed to match your vision and interest.

Parishioner gifts made through wills, trusts, insurance policies, retirement plans, and other planned giving advance the mission of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Every bequest — whether a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your total assets, or the residual of an estate — is a statement of faith and thanksgiving, an example to others, and gives glory to God.
