Are You PRAY-pared?

In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus invites us to live in the kingdom of heaven even as we pray and work for its arrival on earth. Prayer doesn’t convince God that we have a need nor of our solution to that need. Prayer convinces us that God already knows and desires to meet our needs because He is the solution. Jesus taught us to be persistent in intercession and in working for mercy, hope, and love for our neighbors – for all in need. He commands us to pray boldly, audaciously, and unceasingly – particularly in intercession for others. In this way, Christian love seeks to become part of God’s answer to prayer.

Prayer is the most underutilized and yet powerful gift from God to transform us now for Kingdom ministry. Prayer is instituted from God, speaks to each heart, is lived out in the Church, and equips us to meet the needs of our neighbors as we take the Gospel to the ends of the world. Prayer is the water parting, captive freeing, manna feeding, stone rolling, blindness and lame healing, dead raising, apostle-sending POWER of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May we become, more and more, a people of prayer.

Let’s be both prepared and PRAY-pared for mission and ministry.
